Rehearsals - Sunshine Coast Guitar Orchestra

This event is for people interested in rehearsing with The Sunshine Coast Guitar Orchestra. Please note this a rehearsal not a performance.

The Sunshine Coast Guitar Orchestra (SCGO) draws its repertoire from musical traditions from around the world and across musical genres: world, folk, classical, film and rock. Spearheaded by awarded local composer and guitarist - Andrew Veivers – the SCGO home has found a new home at The MET in Maroochydore City Centre.

The SCGO is a community-based orchestra with high musical ambitions. Arrangements are customised by Andrew Veivers to suit the playing ability of every participant. The orchestra is open to everyone – from beginners to advanced players of any age.

Time: 6pm - 8pm
When: 1st & 3rd Monday of the month
Where: The MET (Corner First Ave and South Sea Islander Way, Maroochydore)
Cost: $15 / session

About Andrew Veivers 

One of Australia’s finest Spanish Guitarists, Andrew Veivers has established himself as a musician, teacher, director and composer of the highest calibre - touring, recording, composing, and arranging extensively for solo projects, his groups Flamenco Fire, Kooralbyn, Jaleos Flamenco and The Saruzu Quartet as well as for great Australian artistic institutions such as The Sydney Theatre Company, Opera Queensland and the Woodford Folk Festival.

The MET is located in the new Maroochydore City Centre. There is ample after-hours parking around the venue & an additional carpark located off Sunshine Coast Parade.

Bus Route 614 stops at The Met.

The Place Activation Grant program is an initiative of the Maroochydore City Centre delivered in partnership between Walker Corporation, SunCentral and Sunshine Coast Council.

Queensland Garden Expo

In 2024 the Queensland Garden Expo will celebrate their 40th Anniversary over four special days. Held at Nambour on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, it is ideally situated to showcase all the best of subtropical gardening. An extensive Lecture and Demonstration Program, Landscape Display Gardens, over 360 exhibits including 55 nurseries, a Giant Kitchen Garden Feature and a cooking stage are just a few of the things visitors can enjoy at the Expo. Great food, entertainment and a range of free children's activities all combine to make Queensland Garden Expo a great day out for all the family.
