The Orava Quartet has been hailed by Limelight magazine as “the most exciting young quartet on the block” and predicted by The Australian to become “one of Australia’s proudest cultural exports.” Earning a reputation and devoted following for their thrilling performances, the Quartet bring their unique sound and breathtaking intensity to the classics and less-known jewels of the string quartet canon. Based in Queensland, and firmly world-class - recording for prestigious classical label Deutsche Grammophon - the Quartet’s contemporary style belies the intensity, passion and precision of their music-making.

"A Night of Romance with the Orava Quartet" will be an intimate night with the Oravas', staged in the round so the audience can get up close and personal with the artists, as they share their passion for each piece. The concert will also include the Queensland premiere of a string quartet from celebrated Australian composer Holly Harrison (Swoop).
